Designer: Erika M. Powell, Urban Grace Interiors

Publication: Traditional Home
I’ve been a fan of Erika M. Powell’s work since 2009. She is the principal behind Urban Grace Interiors based in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and her designs always honor traditional design with a coastal flavor, much of this because of the location of her clients’ homes. This sitting room is the exception and has always been one of my favorites.
The Charming Details
Here are top 3 things I love about this charming botanical sitting room in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida:
- Oversized botanical prints – I have an affinity for decor and art in anything vibrant green and leafy and loved the use of these $80 giant botanical prints from art.com.
- Adding texture with grasscloth wallpaper – So complimentary to the botanical prints and adds texture, warmth and interest to an otherwise neutral color palette.
- Restrained use of color in warm taupes and grays. The trend currently is gray, gray, gray. I love that the color palette in this space is warm. I do believe that the design trend will slowly move towards warm brown tones and again and this room is great example of why we should be excited about that!
I was also excited to learn that Erika is getting to ready to launch her own textile line, Erika M. Powell Textiles. I can’t wait to see what she has in store!
